Drombeg Stone Circle

After our morning at Fota Wildlife Park we had lunch, and then it was nap time. And in Ireland that meant we got on the road and drove for several hours. Tilia would drift off to sleep, then her head would bob back and forth in the back seat as the car banked back and forth through the twisting Irish roads.

And when she woke up we were always on our way to the next thing. That day we were on our way to the town of Kinsale, but Alex had also found a cool place to visit on the way in one of our guide books, the Drombeg stone circle. It's a fairly small monument and seemed a little understated in its surroundings but its permanence was impressive and the beauty of the site would be hard to exaggerate, as you will see below.
